Our small-town restaurant is looking for a dependable, hardworking cook to join our team!

We’re looking for someone who:

Has significant experience cooking breakfast in a busy kitchen, as well as experience cooking lunch and dinner items, including a variety of steak cuts cooked to order
Can work calmly and efficiently in a high-volume environment
Takes pride in preparing fresh, delicious food and its presentation
Loves creating meal specials to keep the dining experience exciting for customers
Is dependable, punctual, and works well with a team
Maintains a clean and organized kitchen
Has a positive attitude and enjoys working with people

Duties

Prepare a variety of breakfast items, including eggs, pancakes, breakfast meats, and fresh accompaniments, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
Prepare lunch and dinner menu items, including burgers, steaks, chicken, seafood and fresh vegetables
Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, flat tops, fryers, efficiently and safely
Follow detailed recipes and menu plans to maintain product integrity and presentation standards
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety sanitizing procedures
Comply with food stocking and prep work to meet daily service demands while minimizing waste
Keep all aspects of the kitchen clean--from appliances to prep stations to food storage areas
Practice proper food handling techniques to ensure safety and freshness
Adhere strictly to food safety management practices, including proper storage, labeling, and temperature control
Work cooperatively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during high-volume periods

Qualifications

Proven experience in cooking a wide range of breakfast items and various cooking techniques for eggs, as well as grilling, sautéing, frying, and other cooking methods for lunch and dinner items
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Ability to keep emotions under control when you really want to throw your knife at someone
Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and sanitizing procedures
Familiarity with menu planning and recipe adherence for consistent quality
Previous experience in high-volume cooking environments is a plus

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
