Position Summary
This position will work in the installation, testing, repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities used in the generation, distribution and transmission of electrical power. This position is responsible for understanding and working towards company goals and objectives as well as actively contributing to the cohesiveness of the team.
Job Responsibilities
- Work under the general guidance of the Production Supervisor and General Manager.
- Perform assembly operations and wiring functions to final completion or refurbishment
on all circuit breakers, switchgear, cradles, and any related switchgear or breaker equipment; Installs and repairs conduit and wiring in and around substations.
- Read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints,
specifications, work orders, and reports to determine material requirements and assembly instructions.
- Installs, inspects and repairs selective and control relays, station batteries, and chargers.
- Operates and maintains equipment; use industry related hand tools and power tools.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, etc. and install wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems and other wire raceway systems.
- Feed to pull into, and terminate wire and cable within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switch gear, receptacles, switches, etc.
- Splice and terminate wires at junction points.
- Troubleshoot equipment electrical systems and control circuits.
- Demonstrate a continual effort to streamline work processes.
- Work with team members and/or department to effectively complete work assignment as assigned.
- Able to listen, retain, and execute directions as given by local leadership.
- Observe all company, state and federal safety policies and procedures; observes and follows all company (operational) policies and procedures.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area; Observe all company, local, and federal safety rules, location and company best practices, and company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Exposure to warehouse environment (able to stand for long periods of time, able to move product as required).
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical operation of Low Voltage, Medium Voltage and High Voltage Circuit breakers
- Able to work nights and weekends as business need dictates.
- Able to understand assignment and complete assignment accurately and efficiently.
- Knowledge of various industry standards such as: OSHA and voltage switchgear.
- Must be safety, customer, and team focused.
- Good aptitude for problem solving; Good communication, computer, and time management skills.
- Able to effectively problem solve.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, looking up information, and/or creating reports.
- Able to communicate oral and written communication skills; follow directions-written direction, oral direction, reading work orders and/or specs as assigned; work in a team environment and communicate with team, various departments, and/or Customers as business needs dictate.
- Customer Focused-able to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects, and produce a quality work product.
- For positions that utilize a company vehicle, will be required to have a valid driver’s license.

Additional Information
Travel: Up to 5%
Physical Demands: Lifting and/or pushing/pulling a minimum of 50lbs on a daily basis. Repetitive motion using tools for wiring.
