Spanish Tutor (Part-Time, Contract) – EmpowerED Tutoring
Position Overview
EmpowerED Tutoring is seeking a passionate and reliable Spanish Tutor to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children and adolescents, creates engaging learning experiences, and is committed to helping students build confidence while developing their Spanish language skills.
Our students come from a variety of backgrounds and learning needs, including multilingual learners, students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other learning differences. We are looking for tutors who are patient, flexible, and believe every student can succeed.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group Spanish tutoring for students in grades K–12.
- Support students with:
- Conversational Spanish
- Vocabulary development
- Grammar
- Reading comprehension
- Writing
- Listening and speaking skills
- Homework assistance
- Test preparation
- Adapt lessons to meet each student's learning style and individual goals.
- Create engaging, interactive lessons using games, visuals, and real-world language practice.
- Communicate regularly with the EmpowerED team regarding student progress.
- Maintain professionalism with students and families.
Qualifications
- Fluent in Spanish and English (native or near-native proficiency preferred).
- Experience working with children or adolescents.
- Teaching, tutoring, education, or language instruction experience preferred.
- Current college students studying Spanish, Education, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
- Patient, organized, dependable, and enthusiastic.
- Comfortable working with diverse learners, including students with disabilities and multilingual learners.
- Reliable transportation to tutoring sessions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching license or currently pursuing an education degree.
- Experience supporting neurodivergent learners.
- Experience teaching Spanish as a second language.
- Knowledge of differentiated instruction.
Schedule
- Part-time, flexible scheduling.
- Primarily after-school, evening, and weekend hours.
