Position Overview

The School LCSW will provide counseling, crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy services for students and families. The LCSW will collaborate with educators, administrators, clinicians, and parents to promote students’ emotional well-being, academic success, and positive social development.

This role is ideal for a compassionate professional who thrives in a collaborative, student-centered environment and is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and communication.

Key Responsibilities

Student Support & Counseling

Provide individual and group counseling for students experiencing emotional, social, or behavioral challenges.
Conduct psychosocial assessments to identify student needs and strengths.
Develop and implement intervention strategies tailored to support student success.

Crisis Intervention & Advocacy

Respond promptly to crises, providing immediate support and safety planning.
Serve as a liaison and advocate between students, families, and community resources.
Report concerns in compliance with state laws and school policies.

Collaboration & Case Management

Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and ABA clinicians to align interventions with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
Participate in student support team meetings and contribute to behavior and academic planning.
Connect families with outside agencies for additional support, including mental health, housing, and financial assistance.

Compliance & Documentation

Maintain accurate, confidential case notes and reports in accordance with professional standards.
Adhere to state licensure requirements and ethical standards for social work.
Follow Excel Prep’s communication policies, with a zero-tolerance policy for unprofessional interactions with students.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
Active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential in the state of Texas.
Minimum 2 years of experience in school social work, counseling, or related clinical setting (preferred).
Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and special education processes.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
