HR Representative, ACES Human Resources

Job Summary

The HR Representative supports a variety of human resources activities and provides administrative support, ensuring quality customer service and both timely and accurate delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities

HR Compliance & Policy

Contribute to documentation and compliance efforts as assigned, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and procedures.

Maintain and update appropriate records, communicating with employees, supervisors, and others to obtain needed information.

Respond to customer inquiries according to established guidelines.

Payroll & Time Reporting

Process standard bi-weekly and monthly payroll/timesheets, addressing common timesheet/leave issues and return timesheets/leave requests as needed. Process routine pay adjustments.

Inform staff of basic regulations/policies relating to time reporting and payroll deadlines.

Appointments Management

Maintain and update employee appointments, processing transactions and responding to customer inquiries under established guidelines.

Run and review routine reports. Compile information with responsibility for accurate data entry and correction of minor discrepancies.

Leave Management

Assist with tracking of FMLA, PLFA, or other managed leave categories. Report significant leave discrepancies to higher level staff for research.

Inform staff of basic regulations/policies relating to leave usage.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Any one or combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories below:

A. Course work in Human Resource Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:

- 30 semester hours equal one (1) year (12 months)

- Associate's degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)

- 90 semester hours equal two (2) years (24 months)

B. Progressively more responsible work experience maintaining, monitoring, and/or processing human resource records and reports

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to provide customer service to a broad range of clients.
Ability to easily and quickly pivot from one task to another and stay organized.
Effective time management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all business matters.
Ability to gain knowledge of University and Campus policies related to Human Resources, including but not limited to those listed in the Campus Administrative Manual, Provost’s Communications, and Policies and Rules.
Ability to swiftly learn and adapt to multiple technology application platforms.
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 2135 - Human Resource Representative position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after hire. The previously determined salary range for this position is $44,500 to $50,000. Salary is commensurate with experience.
