Electricians-Foreman
Job Summary: The role as a Foreman for JFK Electric is leading and monitoring installations while ensuring work is performed according to JFK Electric standards and specific project specifications. Foreman must work cooperatively with the general contractor and/or the customer managing the project, project schedules and employees. A Foreman is responsible for maintaining productivity, quality control, labor cost, scheduling, safety, and acquisition of materials and any other activities that impact the success of completing a project. When necessary, the Foreman should be able to perform “hands on/, installation.
Metrics for Success and Key Performance Indicators
· Make good manpower decisions factoring in needs, talent, labor rates and consistency.
· Require that projects are planned; ensure the plan is implemented, followed and adjusted with a high degree of coordination and cooperation from Project Managers.
· Know completely all JFK standards, rules, processes, and procedures; demand they are followed.
· Always uphold and maintain JFK values in safety, auditing jobs and correcting hazards.
· Inspect the work for quality and adherence to the plan, schedule, production, and contract documents.
· Ensure the field operates with a high degree of discipline and accountability, always.
· Take care of our customers, general contractors, and end users; your field should do the same.
· Be The Example, expect the best, step in to do what needs doing; drop the hammer if needed
· Identify, train, and develop our field skill and talent level with formal and informal learning.
· Be an advocate for the office and management, helping to bridge any gaps with the field staff.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities (Other Duties May Be Assigned to Meet Business Needs):
· Review, interpret and analyze plans, specifications, and schedules.
· Develop job setup plans including storage, logistics, tools, equipment, and technology needs. Prepare material lists / buyouts for projects.
· Answer crew questions and provide acceptable solutions in a timely manner.
· Enforce crew productivity, quality, and workmanship standards.
· Attend required meetings, solve problems, and maintain positive relationships with clients.
· Prepare and maintain 3-week look ahead, As-Builts and daily logs.
· Enforce JFK policies, procedures, and standards.
· Promote positive attitudes and high morale on the jobsite with alignment to the JFK values.
· Ensure all jobs are clean and safe work and weekly safety meetings are held.
· Fill out all safety and injury reports in a timely manner.
· Adhere to project contract document changes and any JFK Electric changes order along with Work Authorizations from Customer.
· Ensure the proper safety equipment, materials and tools are onsite to perform the required work.
· Utilize a proactive and customer service approach to anticipate and resolve potential issues. Address the problem with a solution.
· Ensure crew members start and finish work shift on time; Maintain proper meal/break times as per Employee Handbook and as legally required per Arizona State labor laws and regulations.
· Conduct effective performance evaluations of crew members.
· Communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals including project owners, architects, general contractors, management, crew members, etc.
· Ensure all work performed meets with NEC, federal, state, county, local codes and contract documents.
Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities and Requirements:
· Managerial and leadership skills are essential.
· Customer service skills and ability to develop new and build existing relationships.
· Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
· Tangible and intangible talents to lead, instruct and motivate a team.
· A minimum of 4 years of field experience working as a Journeyman Electrician.
· Demonstrate ability to effectively order and track materials, perform labor projections and develop “as-builts”.
· Solid understanding of the electrical codes and installation methods.
· Well-versed in the installation of power systems: lighting, fire protection, security and data networks.
· Comfortable utilizing Electrical Single Line blueprints.
· Experience in verifying the compliance and functionality of installations.
· Knowledgeable in the identification and repair of faults in electrical apparatus and circuits.
· Demonstrate the ability to work in a high stress environment and maintain clear focus on the overall objective of providing a high level of Customer Service.
· Valid OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 Certification
· Valid Arizona Driver’s License and approved motor vehicle record

· Lift 50lbs from the ground and pull 50lbs of force.
· Perform ladder climbing, wire pulling and conduit pulling.
· Fully squat, stoop or kneel while wearing a 25lb tool belt.
· Maintain a standing position for long periods of time while performing repetitive actions such as grasping or manipulating wires.
· Work off ladders, man lifts or reach booms.

Skills
- Proven experience as an electrician
- Able to communicate and manage a crew of journeyman and apprentices
- Working in a Hospital is a plus
- Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems
- Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight
- Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship as an electrician
- Valid license to practice profession
