Full Job Description

GM Insurance Services, an independent insurance agency, is hiring a licensed Commercial Insurance Agent to service and grow an established commercial book focused on commercial auto and trucking. This position is fully remote within Texas.

The book you inherit

This is not a build from scratch producer seat. You take over an established book of 166 active commercial policies representing roughly $1.1 million in annualized premium, weighted heavily toward commercial auto and trucking. You earn commission on that book from your first day servicing it, in addition to commission on everything you write yourself.

What you'll do

Service and retain the assigned commercial book, including renewals, endorsements, remarketing and rewrites, carrier and underwriting work, and client relationships
Write new commercial business from leads we provide
Work primarily commercial auto and trucking, plus general liability, garage keepers, excess and umbrella, and cargo

Compensation

$18.50 per hour base plus uncapped commission
Commission on the established book you service starting day one
Commission on your own new production, with no cap
Strong producers can earn well above the base range. What you write is what you earn

What we're looking for

Reside in Texas and be authorized to work in the United States
Active Texas General Lines Property and Casualty license
3 or more years of commercial lines experience, with commercial auto, trucking, or transportation experience specifically
A track record of writing new business, not servicing only
Home office with a desktop computer and dual monitors, a quiet workspace, and reliable internet
Comfortable working in a commission based pay model
Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus. HawkSoft and rater experience is a plus

Hours

Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific, which is 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM Central. Please apply only if those Central hours work for you long term.
