Full Job Description

JOB TITLE: Payroll Clerk

JOB SUMMARY: This is a temporary position for a dependable and detail-oriented Payroll Aide to support the payroll team with day-to-day payroll processing and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of payroll experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information accurately and professionally.

IDEAL CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working with numbers. They should be comfortable following established processes while also being able to identify and resolve discrepancies when they arise.

Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (some weekends might be needed for 2-3 hours)

Pay: $25.00 to $29.00 per hour DOE

Location: Phoenix, AZ 85034

Parking: Employee paid

Type: Temporary

Start date: Immediately upon passing background check

Duration: 6 - 9 months with possibility of hire!

Benefits: Available after eligibility period is met

DUTIES

Assist with biweekly payroll processing
Review employee timecards and verify hours, overtime, and other payroll information
Enter and update employee payroll information in the payroll system
Assist with resolving payroll discrepancies and employee questions
Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
Process payroll-related paperwork and administrative forms
Assist with tracking paid time off, sick time, and other employee leave
Review payroll reports for accuracy and completeness
Communicate with employees and internal staff regarding payroll questions
Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information
Assist with other payroll and administrative duties as needed

REQUIREMENTS

1 to 2 years of payroll experience required
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Comfortable working with numbers and reviewing detailed information
Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience with payroll software is preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required
Background check required

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
