Licensed Funeral Director – Full-Time or Part-Time

Pay: $35.00 – $55.00 per hour

Job Summary

Evergreen is seeking a compassionate, professional, and qualified Licensed Funeral Director to join our growing organization in Northern Virginia.

We are looking for an experienced professional who can provide guidance and support in funeral service operations while ensuring that all services, documentation, and procedures comply with Virginia laws and professional standards.

This position is available on either a full-time or part-time basis, with compensation based on experience, qualifications, availability, and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Meet with families and provide compassionate guidance regarding funeral, burial, cremation, and memorial arrangements.
Coordinate funeral and memorial services from initial arrangements through completion.
Prepare and maintain required documentation, permits, authorizations, and records.
Ensure compliance with Virginia laws, regulations, licensing requirements, and professional standards.
Coordinate with cemeteries, crematories, hospitals, healthcare facilities, clergy, and other service providers.
Assist with the proper care, transportation, and coordination of decedents as required.
Maintain professional and respectful communication with families throughout the entire process.
Assist Evergreen in establishing and maintaining appropriate funeral service policies, procedures, and operational standards.
Collaborate with management and other team members to ensure high-quality services.
Participate in evening, weekend, or on-call coverage when required and mutually scheduled.

Qualifications

Current and valid Virginia Funeral Director License required.
Previous experience in funeral services preferred.
Knowledge of Virginia funeral service laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Compassionate and professional approach when assisting grieving families.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Schedule

Full-time or Part-time

Flexible scheduling may be available depending on candidate availability and operational needs.

Some evening, weekend, or on-call availability may be required.

Compensation

$35.00 – $55.00 per hour

Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, licensure, availability, and level of responsibility.
