Graphics Coordinator / Worship Media Specialist (Part-time)

Organization: Confidential Faith-Based Organization (DMV Area)

Location: Northern Virginia / Washington DC Metro Area (Hybrid)

Schedule: Part-Time (20 - 25 Hours Per Week)

Compensation: Competitive; based on experience

Position Overview

A faith-based organization in the DMV area is seeking a creative, ministry-minded Graphics Coordinator / Worship Media Specialist to support worship services, ministry communications, livestream production, and volunteer development.

This position will play a key role in developing visual content for worship services and church events while helping establish a sustainable, volunteer-supported media ministry. The ideal candidate will possess strong graphic design skills, experience supporting worship environments, and a collaborative spirit that allows them to work effectively with volunteers, ministry leaders, audiovisual staff and train and mentor volunteers.

Primary Responsibilities

Worship Graphics & Presentation Support

Create weekly worship service graphics and presentation content
Develop sermon title slides, scripture slides, lower-thirds, announcements, and promotional graphics
Manage and update presentation software content (ProPresenter or equivalent)
Create visual assets for special services, conferences, funerals, revivals, and ministry events
Ensure consistency of branding, messaging, and visual standards across all media platforms.

Special Services & Events Support

Design and prepare graphics, presentations, and media content for:

Church Anniversaries
Homecoming Celebrations
Revival Services
Funerals and Memorial Services
Ordination and Installation Services
Concerts and Musical Programs
Youth Services and Events
Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Special holidays
Watch Night Services
Community Outreach Events
Conferences, Workshops, and Ministry Special Events
Coordinate with ministry leaders and event coordinators to ensure timely preparation and delivery of media content.
Assist with media planning and production support for major church-wide events.
Ministry Communications
Design graphics for social media, websites, email communications, digital displays, and printed materials

Ministry Communications

Develop event promotions, flyers, brochures, banners, and ministry announcements
Support communication initiatives that strengthen engagement both in-person and online

Livestream & Production Support

Assist with livestream graphics and visual overlays
Support worship production activities during services and special events
Collaborate with Audio Visual personnel to ensure smooth presentation and streaming operations
Participate in production planning meetings as required
Provide on-site support for major church services and special events when scheduled.

Volunteer Development

Assist with training and mentoring volunteers interested in graphics and media ministry
Develop simple procedures and training materials for volunteers
Foster a welcoming and collaborative volunteer environment
Assist in building long-term ministry sustainability through volunteer engagement

Documentation & Organization

Maintain organized digital asset libraries
Document workflows and procedures
Assist in establishing best practices for media production and content management

Qualifications Required

1+ year of graphic design experience
Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar design platforms
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Willingness to work evenings, every Sunday, and occasional special events
Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, ministry leaders and other audiovisual staff.

Preferred

Experience supporting church, worship or faith-based organizations
Experience with ProPresenter or similar presentation software
Experience supporting livestream production
Familiarity with social media content creation and digital communications
Basic understanding of audio visual production workflows
Experience training or mentoring volunteers
