Title: Human Resources Business Partner
Location: Thompson, OH

Job Summary: The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor to business leaders, aligning human resources strategies with organizational and site-level business goals. This role partners closely with leadership and employees to drive talent management, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and workforce performance.

The HR Business Partner provides expert guidance across employee relations, recruiting, performance management, labor relations, compliance, and change management while ensuring adherence to employment laws and company policies. By leveraging HR analytics, business insight, and HR best practices, this position delivers scalable people solutions that support operational excellence, sustainable business growth, and a positive, inclusive, high-performing workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Design and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures that align with corporate objectives and business needs.
Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, leadership effectiveness, and change management.
Partner with Talent Acquisition to manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including workforce planning, job postings, interviewing, candidate selection, hiring events, and offer management.
Interview and support the selection of salaried and key personnel while ensuring consistent and compliant hiring practices.
Coach managers on employee relations, investigations, corrective actions, performance management, and conflict resolution.
Foster a positive, engaged, and productive workplace through proactive employee relations initiatives.
Promote positive employee relations to minimize labor relations risks and support organizational stability.
Support compensation and wage administration in accordance with company compensation practices.
Serve as the primary HR contact for employee benefits, policy interpretation, investigations, and safety-related HR matters.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
Lead initiatives related to organizational design, succession planning, leadership development, workforce effectiveness, and performance management.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance employee engagement and operational performance.
Maintain accurate HR records and prepare reports related to hiring, attendance, performance, transfers, and workforce metrics.
Utilize HR data and analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Promote company values, ethics, and culture through leadership partnership and HR programs.
Perform additional HR projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Management, or a related field.
Minimum of four years of human resources experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or plant-based environment.
Strong knowledge of employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, benefits, HR compliance, and employment law.
Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local employment regulations.
Experience supporting employee relations in fast-paced or union-sensitive environments.
Demonstrated success leading organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ability to partner effectively with business leaders to align HR strategies with operational objectives.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to develop data-driven HR solutions.
Experience with HRIS, workforce management, or timekeeping systems preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication, coaching, and consulting skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% based on business needs.

Physical & Mental Demands:

Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling of materials or office equipment.
Occasional climbing, kneeling, crawling, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
Ability to concentrate, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to analyze HR data, employment regulations, policies, and workforce information.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees, managers, and leadership.
May require operation of office equipment and occasional travel using a company or personal vehicle.

Work Environment:

Work is performed primarily in an office environment with regular interaction in manufacturing and plant operations.
Exposure to moderate noise and active production environments during plant visits.
Full-time schedule of approximately 40+ hours per week, generally Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Travel up to 30% to support multiple facilities, meetings, training, and business initiatives.
Collaboration with employees and leadership across multiple departments and operational locations.
