Overview

We are seeking an Experienced Heavy Industrial CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This role is pivotal in producing high-precision metal components and assemblies for heavy industrial applications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive expertise in CNC machining, including manual and automated processes, and possess a thorough understanding of mechanical blueprints, tooling, and quality control standards. This position offers an opportunity to work with advanced machining equipment in a dynamic environment committed to precision, safety, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and program CNC machines such as lathes and milling centers to produce complex metal parts according to detailed specifications.
Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure accurate manufacturing.
Utilize CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming software to develop efficient machining programs.
Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools for quality assurance.
Conduct machine setups, including tooling selection, fixture installation, and calibration for optimal performance.
Execute manual machining tasks when necessary using hand tools, grinders, lathes, and other manual equipment.
Perform CNC quality inspections by verifying dimensions with precision measuring instruments and ensuring compliance with specifications.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and proper machine maintenance procedures.
Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret mechanical blueprints and provide feedback on manufacturability.
Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and reducing waste.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Heavy Industrial CNC Machinist with expertise in CNC lathe and milling machine operations.
Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code.
Strong knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks and general blueprint reading skills.
Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret complex blueprints and mechanical drawings accurately.
Skilled in the use of measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
Knowledge of machining tools, tooling setup, and machine calibration techniques.
Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
