Full Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Land Surveying CAD Drafter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming field survey data into highly accurate, professional drawings and plats. You will work closely with Project Managers and Field Crews to ensure all deliverables meet strict technical standards, project specifications, and local legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

· Process raw field data, including total station data, GPS/GNSS data, and laser scanning data.

· Draft detailed and accurate Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, and Subdivision Plats.

· Prepare construction staking calculations, cut sheets, and digital terrain models (DTMs) for earthwork and grading analysis.

· Create and manage Line Tables, Curve Tables, and coordinate geometry (COGO) inputs.

· Perform deed research, tract boundary adjustments, and legal description interpretations to resolve boundary configurations.

· Maintain and enforce company CAD standards, layering conventions, and template management.

Required Qualifications & Skills

· Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of dedicated drafting experience specifically within the land surveying or civil engineering industry.

· Software Proficiency: Advanced, proficient knowledge of Carlson Survey (embedded on AutoCAD).

· Technical Skills: * Strong understanding of land surveying principles, legal descriptions, and public records research.

o Proven ability to interpret field notes, sketches, and digital data collected by field crews.

o Excellent spatial reasoning and mathematical proficiency (trigonometry and geometry).

o Attributes: High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple project deadlines efficiently.
