Overview

Join our dynamic team as an Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper, where you will play a vital role in maintaining smooth office operations and ensuring accurate financial management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your expertise in accounting systems and administrative support to contribute to our organization’s success. You will be responsible for managing financial records, supporting budgeting processes, and providing essential administrative assistance that keeps our operations running efficiently. Duties

Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections using software such as QuickBooks Online.
Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting to maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant accounting standards
Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations to support accurate financial reporting
Process payroll and handle related tax filings, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations and payroll processing standards
Maintain detailed spreadsheets (Excel)for budgeting, financial reports, and account analysis to support organizational decision-making
Conduct account reconciliation tasks including accounts payable/receivable, bank statements, and general ledger accounts
Assist with governmental accounting requirements and State and Federal level accounting practices as needed

Experience

Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles and financial concepts
Hands-on experience with popular accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
Knowledge of corporate accounting practices as well as non-profit or governmental accounting is highly desirable
Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, and account reconciliation procedures is essential
Demonstrated ability to work with spreadsheets (Excel or equivalent), perform 10-key typing accurately, and handle account analysis efficiently
Prior experience in public accounting or working within an organization that follows GAAP standards will be advantageous
Knowledge of how to use and build spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel Online.
