POSITION OVERVIEW
Thrasher is seeking a Landscape Architect to join our Planning & Landscape Architecture team. This position will work closely with architects, civil engineers, and surveyors on a diverse range of projects, including parks and recreation facilities, trails, streetscapes, tourism infrastructure related site development, master plans, and community revitalization efforts. The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented designer who enjoys collaborating across disciplines and seeing projects through from early concepts to construction. Our team is currently engaged in a multitude of community improvement projects across our footprint that are transforming public and private spaces in Appalachia. We are passionate about improving the places around us and are looking for a team member that wants to be involved in transformative projects for our region.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop site plans, landscape plans, planting designs, grading concepts, and hardscape details for public and private projects.
- Prepare conceptual designs, renderings, and graphics for master plans, community engagement, and funding applications.
- Produce construction documents, details, and specifications in coordination with multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Participate in client meetings, public presentations, and community input sessions.
- Conduct site visits and assist with construction administration to ensure design intent is achieved.
- Support project pursuits and proposals with design concepts and graphic content.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.
Licensure: Licensed Landscape Architect (PLA) preferred, or actively pursuing licensure.
Experience: 3–7 years of professional landscape architecture or site design experience preferred; strong entry-level candidates will be considered.
Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D required; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Lumion, or similar visualization tools a plus.
Skills: Strong graphic, design, and communication skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively across disciplines.
