Manufacturing Specialist/ Manufacturing Engineer I

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Diamond Electric is a global leader in the design and production of automotive and home electronic products. The Manufacturing Molding Specialist/ Engineer will develop and continuously manage injection molding systems for mass production lines at our Eleanor, WV production facility. The Manufacturing Molding Specialist/ Engineer will not only lead the installation of production equipment, but will monitor, repair and improve the equipment during the life of the program. Successful candidates should have the ability to work independently and as a productive member of a team.

JOB DUTIES:

· Make PLC/HMI changes to equipment with no assistance/guidance from Lead Manufacturing Engineer

· Monitor daily defect and downtime issues. Report findings to Lead Manufacturing Engineer

· Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with little supervision

· Modify written/electronic documentation with approval of Lead Manufacturing Engineer

· Manage large scope equipment modifications

· Design, quote and purchase large scope tooling using approval from Lead Manufacturing Engineer

· Vision system setup and configuration (ex: Cognex, Keyence, Panasonic)

· Develop improvement processes and validate for the manufacturing of ignition coils

· Increase manufacturing capacity and efficiency through process improvements and the fabrication, purchase, installation and validation of new equipment

· Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair injection molding machines and molds

QUALIFICATIONS:

· 4-year Engineering Degree, Electrical, Mechanical, or Plastics

· Ability to setup, troubleshoot, and update injection molding machines/processes

· Maintain and meet project schedules

· Manage and adhere to project budgets

· Knowledge of process instrumentation

· Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with a cross-functional team of manufacturing engineers, design engineers, production and safety staff

· Knowledge of mechanical systems and injection molding manufacturing equipment

· Ability to work flexible hours as required by customer needs

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)

· Robot setup and programming (C/C++ programming) knowledge is a plus

· Familiar with industrial communication protocols (ex: CC-Link, Ethernet/IP)

· 1-3 or more years verifiable experience in PLC/HMI programming and systems integration in industrial applications using Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Pro Face and Omron platforms is desirable

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
