Full Job Description

Job Summary

Join our all-star retina team as an Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician, where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional eye care and patient service.

We are looking for full-time or part time employees.

Responsibilities

Conduct patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and verifying insurance information
Perform ophthalmic examinations using diagnostic tools like tonometry, ultrasound, and ophthalmic imaging equipment
Assist with performing intravitreal injections and ophthalmic lasers
Operate medical equipment following aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and maintain clinical confidentiality policies
Manage electronic health records (We use ModMed), documenting patient encounters accurately and efficiently
Provide direct patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring a comfortable experience during visits

Experience

Prior experience in a medical office setting, preferably within ophthalmology or optometry clinics
Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye anatomy, physiology, and ophthalmic diagnostics
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as ModMed or similar platforms for managing medical records
Hands-on experience with ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment like tonometers and ophthalmic imaging equipment such as OCT
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Experience in retail sales or front desk operations is a plus for managing patient flow and appointment scheduling
Ability to learn new tasks if unfamiliar with certain new skills

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
