Full Job Description

A local medical office in Kanawha City is seeking a part-time Medical Biller.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Medical Biller responsibilities include working to reconcile billing issues, working with the accounting department to ensure all accounts are up to date, and helping with the training of new employees in the billing department. You will take the data provided by the medical coders and use it to compile and submit claims to insurance companies and then subsequently bill patients. You will be responsible for collection of all monies due from patients, receive and post patient and insurance carrier payments and patient charges, assist in account receivables review, collections, weekly billings, and assist front offices in insurance carrier compliance and information and review and analyze patient accounts, and discuss financial information with patients. Additional duties will be to balance daily charges, payments, adjustments, and prepare daily deposits, make patient contact in collections, pre-certifications, etc. and provide support for staff in satellite offices.

Qualifications:

A High School Diploma is required, college degree preferred.
Follow HIPPA policies and procedures
Maintain confidentiality of all patient information at all times.
Maintains proper attendance and punctuality.
Display consistent professionalism

Evaluation to hire position

Hours are part-time, approx. 2 days per week Pay rate starts at $18.00 an hour.
