Job Description

The HR Intern will provide administrative support to the Human Resources Manager, with a primary focus on organizing, sorting, and maintaining employee files and HR records. The intern will also assist with onboarding new hires and other HR-related activities.

Job Responsibilities

Assist with onboarding tasks, including preparing documentation and supporting orientation
Assist with HR administrative tasks like data entry, maintaining employee records (digital and paper), and supporting HR communications
Maintain compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the manager.
Support the sourcing, engagement, and onboarding of nonprofit organizations

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, Hospitality, or a related field; or have equivalent administrative/HR experience
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general digital tools, with the ability to manage data and systems accurately
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, leaders, and external partners
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
Ability to work independently, take initiative, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with accuracy
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and event days; experience in events, food & beverage, or working with non-profits is a plus
Must be a student at the College of Charleston
