Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to join our boutique law firm. Our firm represents post-acute healthcare providers and others in several states in healthcare reimbursement and related matters. This is a full-time position. This is a remote position but may transition to an office role for some or all work. Additionally, the position may require in-person meetings, training, or other on-site duties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in guardianship and conservatorship cases and civil litigation, with preference given to candidates with this experience in cases in North Carolina, Georgia, and/or South Carolina. Experience with long-term care Medicaid eligibility is beneficial but not required. Only qualified candidates who reside in or are relocating to Charleston, SC or its surrounding area will be considered.

Responsibilities:

Prepare, send, and file court pleadings, correspondences, and other documents. Court filings include both "paper" and e-file.
Perform factual investigations.
Communicate with courts, banks, financial institutions, and other entities regarding filings and other document requests.
Communicate with clients.
Create and maintain case files in One Drive, Clio, and the Microsoft suite of products.
Research public records to determine property ownership and to locate people.
Perform clerical duties, which include but are not limited to, scheduling and calendaring deadlines and court dates, and drafting, reading and reviewing correspondences.

Highly experienced with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal management software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
