1:1 Student Support Aide
JOB SUMMARY: This position will work under the instruction/guidance of PSA's Special Education Coordinator as an individual student aide. You will work with one student throughout the entirety of the school day to meet the needs established in their IEP/504 plan. Daily tasks include helping the student in and out of the building at the beginning and end of the school day, accompanying the student to class, lunch, and therapy appointments, and supporting the student and teachers with individualized accommodations in all classes.
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
● Assist teachers with the planning, preparing, and delivering of lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning for the student's individual needs.
● Under the supervision of teaching staff, provide specialized instructional techniques through individual or group sessions designed to meet the educational needs of the student.
● Understand FERPA and maintain confidentiality with student information and records.
● Assist with adaptive technology when necessary to support individualized student needs.
● Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
● Communicate necessary information regularly and in a timely manner to students, colleagues and parents
● Participate in productive department, school, district and parent meetings.
● Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.
● Participate in professional development activities.
● Demonstrate a willingness to share knowledge and experience with fellow colleagues, as well as the willingness to learn from others.
● Collaborate with other faculty and staff in professional learning communities (PLCs).

Requires an Associates Degree or credit equivalent
Prefer B.A/B.S degree
Prefer knowledge of strategies and materials for the education of gifted and talented students
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Must have the proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program.
Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, supervise students, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
Compensation:
Salary for this position is competitive with local school districts.
State health benefits are offered.

Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 190 school days
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26,200.00 - $37,000.00 per year
