Responsibilities and Duties

Basic Description
Demonstrate competent clinical skills; utilize critical thinking to identify and meet patient needs; achieve positive patient outcomes through group process; display leadership traits that contribute to attainment of patient and departmental goals; assist with unit QI/research projects; identify actual legal/ethical issues and implement appropriate nursing actions. Lic./Cert./Reg.
All licensure must be current/valid and from the state of West Virginia.
Registered Nurse
Basic Life Support - Must be certified within 30 days of hire.
Must meet Ladder Criteria of Level II

Patient Group Knowledge
The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the departments identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

If assigning work to or supervising others, the employee must additionally possess documented, department specific clinical/managerial knowledge and experience necessary to make appropriate decisions for patient and staff safety. Certification in appropriate clinical specialty is preferred
