Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Facilities and Fleet Manager to lead the maintenance, management, and optimization of our physical facilities and vehicle fleet. In this vital role, you will oversee the upkeep of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and industrial systems to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant environment. Your leadership will drive proactive maintenance strategies, manage maintenance teams, and implement innovative solutions to support our manufacturing operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact by maintaining high standards of safety, reliability, and operational excellence across all facilities and fleet assets.

Responsibilities

Manage and support facilities maintenance teams responsible for mechanical systems repair, electrical systems troubleshooting (including high voltage and low voltage), plumbing system maintenance, HVAC system repair, and industrial maintenance activities.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, to optimize equipment uptime and reduce downtime.
Oversee the management of mechanical schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical documentation to facilitate efficient troubleshooting and repairs.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations by enforcing safety protocols during all maintenance activities; conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for team members.
Coordinate repairs for complex mechanical systems using engineering troubleshooting technique
Lead projects related to facilities upgrades or modifications while managing budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
Supervise fleet operations of school buses including drivers, vehicle maintenance schedules, repairs for low voltage electrical systems in vehicles, management of high voltage components where applicable, ensuring adherence to transportation safety standards, determining bus stops and routes to optimize parent requests and communication of transportation issues to parents and administration. May serve as a backup driver in the absence of regular drivers.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and safety compliance using record-keeping tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan facility improvements that enhance operational efficiency in manufacturing environments.
Ensure all facilities meet regulatory standards related to safety, environmental impact, and industry best practices.
Responsible for event setup and breakdown.
Responsible for grounds upkeep.

Experience

Proven management experience supervising facilities maintenance teams within a, school, industrial or manufacturing setting.
Extensive mechanical knowledge including systems repair such as HVAC units, plumbing systems, electrical circuits (high voltage and low voltage), and industrial machinery.
Strong background in managing facilities management programs with hands-on experience in troubleshooting engineering issues using schematics and technical diagrams, strong supervisory and communication skills and willing to lead by example. Must demonstrate initiative and drive to complete tasks.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a focus on safety regulations.
Practical experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is preferred but not required; familiarity with schematics is essential.
Knowledge of safety standards related to electrical work (including high voltage) and mechanical systems within manufacturing environments.
Excellent communication skills in English for effective team leadership and cross-departmental collaboration.
