Full Job Description

CNC Programmer / Operator

A well-established manufacturing facility is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer / Operator to join our growing team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys both programming and working on the shop floor. You'll be responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and optimizing CNC equipment to produce high-quality precision brass components.

Responsibilities

· Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and machining centers.

· Create and modify CNC programs to improve efficiency and quality.

· Select tooling, establish offsets, and perform machine setups.

· Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.

· Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.

· Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary program or machine adjustments.

· Monitor production to ensure parts meet quality standards.

· Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment and work areas clean.

· Work with production and quality teams to improve processes, reduce downtime, and minimize scrap.

· Follow all safety and quality procedures.

· All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· 5+ years of CNC programming, setup, and machining experience.

· Experience with CNC lathes and/or machining centers.

· Working knowledge of G-code and CAD/CAM software.

· Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.

· Experience using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Experience machining brass or other non-ferrous materials is a plus.
