Full Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Security Systems Specialist (SSP) plays a critical role in supporting the implementation and migration of Client Enterprise Security Applications, working closely with Client Security partners and field installation teams to ensure seamless deployment and provide site-level support throughout the migration process.

This position requires close coordination with IT personnel to ensure compliance with relevant security regulations and standards. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in electronic security systems, incident response, vendor and contractor relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration with technical teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All functions, duties, or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical, and professional manner and are to be performed in conformance with applicable company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.

Core Duties Include:

1. Lead the implementation, site coordination, and commissioning of ProWatch access control systems.

2. Oversee the operational use of physical security systems — including ProWatch, Maxpro, and Lenel: encompassing access control, surveillance, and ancillary systems.

3. Serve as the primary liaison between field installation teams and the customer's IT department, ensuring devices are properly networked, configured, and communicating within the applicable security platform.

4. Configure and program IP cameras, access control panels, card readers, and electronic locking hardware; troubleshoot connectivity, device import errors, and software integration issues as they arise.

5. Review and interpret network diagrams, system schematics, and installation drawings to support accurate device configuration and deployment.

6. Manage incident response efforts to minimize downtime and mitigate security threats, escalating unresolved technical issues to appropriate vendors, integrators, or IT stakeholders and tracking resolution.

7. Ensure compliance with all relevant security regulations, standards, and IT policies; support the Program Manager with implementation standards and system controls in alignment with Unified Access strategies.

8. Manage relationships with security vendors, contractors, and IT partners to ensure solutions meet organizational requirements9. Support GSOC operations and the integration of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) systems.

10. Provide user support, application onboarding, and staff training on system operations.

11. Perform tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for assigned account(s).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY

Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference depending upon the nature of the position

Basic Qualifications

United States citizenship preferred
At least 21 years of age
Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances or background checks if applicable

Education/Experience

Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Mathematics, IT/MIS, or related Engineering subject, with an emphasis in Information Security preferred
Minimum two (2) years of experience in electronic security systems, including IP camera and access control installation or programming.
Prefered IP video certification
Working knowledge of IP networking concepts including IP addressing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and basic switch/router configuration.
Experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC), GSOC, or command center environment preferred.
Experience with security team management or mentorship of technology professionals

Background Prerequisites

Successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation.
Clean criminal record consistent with company security policies.
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening (if required).
A valid driver’s license may be required depending on operational needs.

Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing)

Ability to read and interpret network diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
Familiarity with PoE switches, NVRs, and network-connected security hardware.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across hardware and software.
Security technology systems management.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
Effective communication and executive briefing.
Attention to detail and situational awareness.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS (Physical/Mental Demands)

Regular talking and hearing.
Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
Walking, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
Close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Performing work in a security operations center environment with continuous monitoring activities.
Position may require extended periods of sitting while monitoring security systems and reviewing reports.
Occasional travel may be required for training, meetings, or operational support.
Must be available for on-call support and emergency response outside normal business hours.
May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on operational needs.

The salary range for this role is $100,000-$115,000
