Piedmont School of Music & Dance is seeking an exceptional dance educator who is equally passionate about developing dancers, mentoring teachers, and helping build one of the premier dance programs in the Charlotte area.

Position Overview:
This full-time position combines approximately:
- 20+ hours per week of administrative and leadership responsibilities
- 15+ hours per week of teaching
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing teaching, leadership, curriculum development, and program management.
Schedule:
Full-Time
- Monday–Thursday afternoon / evenings
- Saturday mornings
Compensation & Growth:
Base Salary: $40,000 annually
Total Earning Potential: Up to $50,000+ annually

This role is also eligible for 401k matching after 6 months of employment.

Your Primary Mission:
Your mission is simple:
Develop technically strong, confident dancers while helping build a positive, encouraging culture for students, families, and fellow faculty.
You'll also serve as a leader within the school by mentoring younger teachers, maintaining instructional excellence, and helping ensure consistency across our curriculum.
Teaching Responsibilities:
Teach classes including:
- Ballet (Beginning through Advanced)
- Pointe
- Beginning Tap*
- Beginning Jazz*
*While experience teaching Beginning Tap & Jazz is useful, it is not required. If you have a strong ballet foundation and are eager to learn, we'll provide the training, curriculum, and mentorship needed to confidently teach our Beginning Tap & Jazz classes.
Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment while inspiring students to achieve their personal best.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Assist with program management and daily studio operations.
- Mentor and support newer teachers.
- Help maintain curriculum consistency across instructors.
- Communicate professionally with parents and staff.
- Assist with teacher scheduling and class coverage.
- Support performances, rehearsals, evaluations, and special events.
- Attend faculty meetings and training sessions.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional studio environment.

- Support dancers through their onboarding process

- Has excellent ballet training and teaching experience.
- Can confidently teach all levels of Ballet and Pointe.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of dance teaching experience preferred.
- Strong ballet training required.
- Experience teaching Pointe.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
