Full Job Description

Bridge Inspection Technician

Kisinger Campo & Associates (KCA) is seeking two Bridge Inspection Technicians. One position will be based in Charleston, SC, and the other will support our Columbia, SC and Charlotte, NC offices. These individuals will assist a Team Lead, either a Certified Bridge Inspector (CBI) or Professional Engineer (PE), in performing in-depth structural inspections of bridges and ancillary structures throughout North and South Carolina.

Qualifications:

Ability to assist a Certified Bridge Inspector or Professional Engineer in related work
Basic understanding of computer programs used to generate bridge inspection reports (or ability to learn quickly)
Demonstrated proficiency in basic mathematical calculations
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Ability and willingness to operate a motor vehicle
Willingness to travel overnight as required

Responsibilities:

Assist the Team Lead (Certified Bridge Inspector or Professional Engineer) in conducting detailed structural inspections of bridges and related structures
Gather and document field data needed to compile comprehensive bridge safety and maintenance inspection reports
Support the Team Lead during field operations and inspections
Assist with monthly scheduling of inspection work for the team
Coordinate scheduling and communication with subconsultants and vendors, as needed
Operate inspection equipment, including inspection vehicles, bucket trucks, inspection boats, and under-bridge inspection units
Schedule and oversee general maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure readiness for future use
Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate technical records under supervision
Maintain organized and accurate file management systems
Ensure inspection vehicles are properly stocked, clean, and maintained
