(Novelty Gifts, Cards & Stationery, and Home Fragrance)
Turn Ideas Into Products People Actually Buy
At The Workhorse Group, we design and manufacture the candles, home fragrance, novelty gifts, and stationery you've probably picked up at your favorite big-box or specialty retailer without even realizing it was us. Our products sit on shelves at some of the largest retailers in the world, and we're growing our team to help develop the next wave of programs from first sketch to store shelf.
We're hiring a Product Development and Marketing Coordinator to be the connective tissue between our Product Managers, Creative team, Sourcing, and our overseas manufacturing partners. If you love the tangible side of product, holding a prototype, organizing a sample room, building a killer customer presentation and you also don't mind living in a spreadsheet to keep 10 programs on track, this is your role.
Own the details that make programs succeed
-
Partner directly with Product Managers to move new product programs from concept through production
-
Drive prototype development, product approvals, and packaging development
-
Be the point of contact for vendor communications — tracking responses, chasing deadlines, keeping overseas partners aligned
Bring products to life, physically
-
Build product mockups and samples used in real customer pitches and internal reviews
-
Manage inbound/outbound sample shipments and keep our sample library and showroom organized and presentationready
-
Get handson with products daily (yes, there's some lifting — up to 35 lbs. because you're working with real, physical goods, not just slide decks)
-
Support customer presentation development and partner with Creative on launch materials, and digital assets
-
Conduct market research and instore trend assessments — your eyes on the shelf help shape what we build next
Keep the trains running on time
-
Track milestones across multiple concurrent programs and proactively flag risks before they become problems
-
Support daytoday operational efficiency for the broader team
-
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Merchandising, Product Development, Business or equivalent handson experience in consumer products, retail, or merchandising
-
2 5 years in consumer products, product development, brand marketing, retail buying, or packaging
-
The organizational instincts of someone who never lets a deadline slip and the communication skills to keep vendors, Creative, and Sales all on the same page
-
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
-
Comfort working across time zones with overseas manufacturing partners is a big plus
Bonus if you've worked in: Candles, Home Fragrance, Novelty Gifts, Home Décor, Seasonal, Cards and Stationery.
You'll Thrive Here If You...
-
Get genuinely excited unboxing a new sample or prototype
-
Are equally comfortable in a sample room and a spreadsheet
-
Like fast pace and real variety — no two weeks look the same
-
Want to learn the entire concepttoshelf journey, not just one slice of it
-
Have strong followthrough and don't need to be chased for updates
