About Celeste Beauty Academy
Celeste Beauty Academy (CBA) is preparing to open a tuition-free North Carolina public charter high school centered on cosmetology, entrepreneurship, workforce development, and college readiness.
As a recipient of the NC GROW Charter School Program Planning & Implementation Grant, CBA is building its founding team in preparation for an August 2027 opening. This is a unique opportunity to join a startup public charter school during its Planning Year and help build the systems, community relationships, and operational infrastructure that will support the school for years to come.
Position Summary
The Enrollment & Recruitment Coordinator is a full-time, hybrid position responsible for leading student recruitment and enrollment during Celeste Beauty Academy's Planning Year while also supporting the development of the school's student enrollment, business operations, records, and enrollment-related funding processes.
During the Planning Year, the position's immediate priority will be building a strong student pipeline, with goals of generating 300+ qualified student interest forms and enrolling CBA's founding class of 100 students for August 2027.
This position extends beyond traditional student recruitment. The successful candidate will help establish the systems CBA will use to manage enrollment, student records, district coordination, data reporting, and funding processes associated with enrolled students.
There is an opportunity for continued Year 1 employment following the Planning Year, with the role transitioning more heavily toward student enrollment management and school business operations as CBA opens and begins serving students.
Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Recruitment & Community Outreach
- Develop and execute CBA's founding student recruitment strategy.
- Generate and manage a pipeline of prospective students and families.
- Represent CBA at community events, career fairs, churches, middle schools, nonprofits, recreation centers, and other community locations.
- Build relationships with middle schools, guidance counselors, youth organizations, community leaders, and referral partners.
- Conduct family information sessions, presentations, and recruitment events.
- Develop referral partnerships throughout Mecklenburg County and surrounding communities.
- Coordinate recruitment initiatives with CBA's marketing and communications efforts.
- Work occasional evenings and weekends for recruitment and community events.
Enrollment & Family Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective students and families.
- Manage the enrollment pipeline from initial interest through application, acceptance, registration, orientation, and first-day attendance.
- Maintain consistent communication with prospective and enrolled families through phone, email, and other communication platforms.
- Assist families with enrollment requirements and required documentation.
- Coordinate lottery and admissions processes when applicable.
- Track missing documents, follow-up requirements, enrollment status, and family engagement.
- Support orientation and onboarding of CBA's founding families.
Student Records & Data Management
- Develop and maintain organized, accurate, and audit-ready student enrollment records.
- Maintain student demographic, parent/guardian, residency, transportation, enrollment, and other required information.
- Coordinate requests and receipt of student cumulative records from previous schools and districts.
- Support appropriate coordination of Exceptional Children, English Learner, Section 504, and other student records.
- Develop enrollment procedures, document checklists, communication templates, and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with implementation and management of CBA's enrollment database/CRM.
- Protect confidential student and family information.
Business Management & Enrollment-Related Funding
As the school approaches opening, this position will increasingly support the business and financial processes connected to student enrollment.
Responsibilities may include:
- Identify the North Carolina school district associated with each enrolled student's residence.
- Coordinate enrollment and student record communications with school districts.
- Support ADM verification and required state enrollment reporting.
- Maintain accurate enrollment data needed for funding and compliance purposes.
- Coordinate with school leadership, finance personnel, NCDPI, districts, and other agencies regarding student enrollment and related documentation.
- Support processes associated with applicable funding streams, including state ADM funding, Title I, Exceptional Children funding, English Learner funding, CTE funding, transportation, school nutrition, federal programs, and other eligible funding sources.
- Maintain documentation and records necessary to support funding requests, reimbursements, reporting, and audits.
- Assist leadership with identifying enrollment-related funding opportunities and deadlines.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Maintain dashboards tracking interest forms, applications, enrollment, family engagement, referral sources, recruitment activities, and student demographics.
- Track recruitment and enrollment metrics weekly.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Executive Director and school leadership.
- Use enrollment data to identify gaps and recommend adjustments to recruitment strategies.
- Help ensure CBA reaches its enrollment targets before opening.
Planning Year Performance Goals
The successful candidate will work toward the following founding-year goals:
- 300+ qualified student interest forms
- 150+ applications
- 100 enrolled founding students
- 100 students prepared to attend on the first day of school
- Complete and audit-ready enrollment records
- Strong relationships with schools, families, districts, and community partners
- Repeatable enrollment and recruitment systems that can scale as CBA grows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in education, school enrollment, admissions, recruitment, business administration, finance, nonprofit operations, community outreach, sales, or a related field preferred.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building and customer-service skills.
- Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets, databases, and reporting systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
- Ability to learn public-school enrollment, reporting, compliance, and funding processes.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential records.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community outreach.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Commitment to educational opportunity, career readiness, and CBA's mission.
Experience with North Carolina public schools, charter schools, student information systems, ADM, NCDPI reporting, school finance, federal programs, or student enrollment is highly desirable but not required.

Salary: $50,000 annually

Growth Opportunity
This position is being hired during Celeste Beauty Academy's Planning Year. Candidates who successfully develop and manage CBA's founding enrollment systems may have the opportunity to continue with the academy following its August 2027 opening, with responsibilities evolving toward ongoing enrollment management, student records, district coordination, business operations, and enrollment-related funding administration.
