Full Job Description

POSITION NARRATIVE: The Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Operations and Process Improvement Manager serves as the operational and technical subject matter expert responsible for optimizing revenue cycle workflows, technology, analytics, education, and process improvement initiatives across the organization. This role partners closely clinical leadership, Information Technology, and practice operations to improve financial performance, operational efficiency, user adoption, and overall revenue integrity. The role will provide management of assigned functional areas in RCM because of optimization strategies, as appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Revenue Cycle Education and Training:

Design, develop, and maintain standardized training curriculum for all Revenue Cycle functions
Create role-specific training manuals, workflow documentation, job aids, quick-reference guides, videos, and e-learning modules
Facilitate train the trainer sessions
Coordinate competency assessments and ongoing education programs
Ensure training materials remain aligned with payer regulations, organizational policies, and system enhancements

Revenue Cycle Process Improvement:

Lead enterprise Revenue Cycle process improvement initiatives continuous improvement methodologies
Evaluate existing workflows to identify operational inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and revenue leakage opportunities
Facilitate workflow redesign sessions with operational and clinical stakeholders.
Develop standardized operating procedures and best practices across Revenue Cycle operations
Monitor implementation outcomes and measure operational improvements
Collaborate with physician leadership, clinical operations, nursing leadership, and practice administrators to optimize clinical workflows impacting Revenue Cycle performance
Develop standardized workflows that improve both provider efficiency and financial outcomes
Serve as a liaison between clinical operations and Revenue Cycle teams to ensure workflow alignment
Lead multiple concurrent Revenue Cycle initiatives from planning through implementation
Develop project plans, timelines, communication strategies, and implementation milestones
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of strategic initiatives.
Monitor project performance, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.
Present project updates and recommendations to executive leadership.

EHR and Practice Management System Leadership:

Serve as the Revenue Cycle operational lead for EHR and Practice Management system implementations, upgrades, optimizations, and enhancements.
Partner with Information Technology, application analysts, vendors, and operational leadership during implementation projects.
Develop future-state workflows that align technology with operational best practices.
Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), validation testing, issue resolution, and go-live readiness activities.
Lead post-implementation optimization initiatives to maximize system functionality and user adoption.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, Health Information Management, or related field.
Five to seven years of progressive Revenue Cycle experience within physician practices, ambulatory care, or health systems.
Demonstrated expertise across end-to-end Revenue Cycle operations.
Experience leading EHR and Practice Management system implementations or optimization initiatives.
Strong analytical, reporting, and dashboard development skills.
Experience developing and delivering adult learning programs.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) and Practice Management software

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or related discipline.
Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), or equivalent certification.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Experience with Epic, athenaOne, Oracle Health/Cerner, GE Centricity, or similar EHR/Practice Management platforms.
Advanced proficiency with Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools.

Work Environment:

This position primarily works in an office or remote office environment with standard office equipment and moderate noise levels. Reliable internet connectivity and the ability to maintain HIPAA-compliant work practices are required for remote work arrangements, where applicable.
