About the job:

We are a General Contractor and Construction Management company specializing in commercial, industrial, institutional, retail, and multi-family building projects. We provide comprehensive services including pre-construction, general construction, construction management, and design-build, tailored to each client’s needs. The company delivers new construction, additions, and renovations nationwide from its corporate headquarters in Troy, Michigan, with division offices in Texas, North Carolina, and Florida. Team members join a client-focused organization committed to turning project visions into successful, high-quality built environments.

Seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead the estimating department for commercial construction projects. This individual will oversee conceptual through hard-bid estimating, manage bid strategies, review plans/specifications, prepare detailed cost estimates, coordinate subcontractor pricing, and mentor estimating staff. The role works closely with Preconstruction, Operations, and Project Management to deliver competitive, accurate bids.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead all estimating and preconstruction activities.

· Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed cost estimates.

· Perform quantity take-offs and analyze project costs.

· Solicit and evaluate subcontractor/vendor proposals.

· Develop bid strategies and value engineering solutions.

· Review drawings, specifications, and constructability.

· Mentor and manage the estimating team.

· Maintain historical cost databases and estimating standards.

Requirements

· 10+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.

· Leadership experience managing an estimating department or team.

· Experience estimating commercial, industrial, institutional, retail, healthcare, education, or multifamily projects.

· Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, materials, and subcontractor trades.

· Experience with conceptual estimating, budgeting, and value engineering.

· Proficiency with estimating software (Sage Estimating, WinEst, DESTINI, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Procore, PlanSwift, etc.).

· Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.

Pay: From $150,000.00 per year
