Full Job Description

Job Overview

The Marketing and Development Director is responsible for leading the school's marketing, enrollment promotion, fundraising, grant development, and community engagement efforts. This position serves as the primary ambassador for the school, working to increase awareness, strengthen the school's brand, build meaningful partnerships, and secure philanthropic support that advances the school's mission and strategic priorities.

The Director collaborates closely with school leadership, faculty, families, community organizations, businesses, and donors to promote the school's successes and expand opportunities for students.

Responsibilities

Marketing and Communications

Develop and implement a comprehensive annual marketing and communications plan aligned with the school's strategic goals.
Promote the school to prospective families through print, digital, and community outreach efforts.
Develop compelling stories that highlight student achievement, teacher excellence, school culture, and academic success.
Manage the school's website to ensure timely, accurate, and engaging content.
Create brochures, presentations, videos, advertisements, and promotional materials.
Coordinate photography and videography to document school events and accomplishments.
Maintain brand standards across all internal and external communications.
Serve as a liaison with local media to promote positive news stories and school initiatives.

Enrollment Marketing

Develop and execute enrollment marketing campaigns that increase student recruitment and retention.
Coordinate open houses, tours, information sessions, and recruitment events.
Build relationships with prospective families throughout the enrollment process.
Analyze enrollment data and marketing effectiveness to improve outreach strategies.
Represent the school at community events, fairs, and networking opportunities.

Development and Fundraising

Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan that supports the school's mission and strategic initiatives.
Cultivate relationships with individual donors, alumni, businesses, civic organizations, and community partners.
Coordinate annual giving campaigns, sponsorships, and fundraising events.
Identify new funding opportunities and donor prospects.
Maintain donor records and oversee donor stewardship and recognition.
Prepare fundraising reports and measure return on investment for fundraising initiatives.

Grant Writing and Management

Research federal, state, local, corporate, and foundation grant opportunities.
Write compelling grant proposals that align with school priorities.
Collaborate with school leadership to identify funding needs and project goals.
Manage grant timelines, reporting requirements, and compliance.
Track grant outcomes and communicate program impact to funders.

Community and Business Partnerships

Develop strategic partnerships with local businesses, civic organizations, higher education institutions, and nonprofit organizations.
Coordinate volunteer opportunities and community engagement initiatives.
Secure sponsorships for school events, programs, athletics, and student initiatives.
Represent the school at community meetings and networking events.
Build relationships that expand educational opportunities for students through internships, mentoring, career exploration, and service learning.

Strategic Leadership

Collaborate with the Executive Director and leadership team to advance the school's strategic plan.
Develop annual goals and measurable performance indicators for marketing and development initiatives.
Monitor marketing analytics, enrollment trends, fundraising performance, and community engagement metrics.
Prepare reports for school leadership and the Board of Directors.
Ensure all communications reflect the mission, vision, and values of the school.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred

Experience in education, public schools, charter schools, or nonprofit organizations.
Grant writing experience with a demonstrated history of successful awards.
Experience planning fundraising campaigns and special events.
Knowledge of donor management software, CRM systems, and marketing analytics tools.
Graphic design and photography/video editing experience.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
