Full Job Description

American Circuits is a family-owned business celebrating its 35th year in operation. We have a clear strategic plan that has led to steady growth (about 20% annually) while recently expanding to a new, modern manufacturing facility in southeast Charlotte near Matthews, NC.

We are looking for a Controller who can provide leadership and coordination of all company financials, budget management and accounts receivable / payable functions.

The person is a key member of our leadership team and will help drive key business outcomes by providing clear reporting and deep analysis.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions to provide leadership a clear picture of the company’s performance.
Maintain financial records.
Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
Manage cost controls, find cost savings, reduce unnecessary waste and lower operational spending.
Execute daily financial operations including managing cash flow and tracking of expenses.
Provide analysis and forecasts for senior leadership while completing cost accounting via learning, and eventually understanding, our manufacturing operation.
Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and investment decisions.
Awareness and stay up to date on local, state, and federal regulations.
Design, establish, and maintain office structure and procedures to effectively accomplish the company’s goals and objectives.
Assist with certain HR tasks including payroll (automated; coordinate with outside vendor), compensation and benefits, on-boarding into our payroll system, and documentation.
Serve in leadership role in planning and policy-making decisions.

PREFERRED CANDIDATES WOULD HAVE:

Accounting degree.
Ideally 2-5 years business accounting experience. Manufacturing experience is a plus.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Ability to utilize QuickBooks.
Understanding of company financial health and strategies.
Experience with financial reporting and analysis.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Understanding of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles. The ideal candidate should have the ability to design internal controls to prevent fraud and errors, and ensure compliance with laws, regulation.
Cash flow management to ensure obligations are met including managing working capital, overseeing receivables/payables, and optimizing liquidity.
Understanding of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Awareness of federal and state financial regulations. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Detailed knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
Ability to identify issues before the occur and improve financial processes, and implement systems to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
