Production Supervisor - Harrisburg, NC

As Production Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in providing supervision of plant team members in the daily attainment of scheduled production plans for each assigned area (i.e. box culvert, pre-stress, reinforced concrete pipe, and wet cast). The production supervisor works together with plant manager, sales, engineering, production scheduler and production team members to schedule and produce product to meet specifications and customer expectations.

About the Role:

Oversees daily operations, ensuring efficient concrete production. Responsibilities include managing production schedules, supervising staff, developing and enforcing safety protocols.
Monitor equipment maintenance, troubleshoot issues, order parts, schedule necessary preventatice maintenance, and collaborate with maintenance personnel.
Coordinate raw material deliveries, maintain inventory, and optimize production processes.
Implement and enforce quality control processes that minimize overprocessing and scrap
Effective communication with team members, management, and other departments is essential for seamless plant operations.

· Recruitment, interview, hire, train and supervise an adequate number of employees to meet the needs of the pipe plant operations.

· Prepare daily production reports, quality downgrade reports, down time/efficiency reports, and other paperwork as required using Rinker required computerized forms and systems.

· Responsible for maintaining filing and documentation systems for regulatory, osha, and personnel documents.

· Batch and adjust mix designs as required per applicable ASTM, DOT and Rinker requirements.

· Performing bulk and physical inventories

· Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree preferred.
5 years’ experience in pipe production strongly preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of full responsibility of all aspects of production, maintenance, safety and quality control.
3-5 years’ supervisory experience including team building, facilitation, mentoring and follow-through.
Knowledge of production management in the concrete industry or equivalent.

· Has knowledge of the required ASTM specifications

· Working knowledge of large machine operation, construction of infrastructure and shipping and fulfillment.

Demonstrated ability to provide direction, develop and lead a team, provide strategic direction, and inspire the team to achieve key goals in a timely and cost-effective manner. Ability to apply problem solving techniques.
Strong written and verbal communications skills and ability to present oneself and communicate in a professional, positive, and courteous manner at all times with all levels of team members.
Ability to provide clear and concise verbal instructions along with the ability to listen and ask questions to understand points made by others.
General computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and database systems.
Ability to read and apply information fromplans, blueprints, work instructions and equipment manuals.
Mathematical skills and mechanical abilities to diagnose and solve problems
Demonstrated pattern of positive attitude, strong work ethic and dedication.
Must have a valid drivers’ license and ability to travel 5-10 percent of the time to locations and/or meetings.
