Position Summary
The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and developing the engineering organization supporting Scott's Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) solutions in North America. This role provides leadership to Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Engineering teams and is accountable for engineering execution, resource planning, process discipline, team development, and delivery of customer projects that meet safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
The primary focus of this position is AGV systems and related mobile automation solutions. While Scott Automation operates across multiple automation technologies globally, this role is principally responsible for supporting AGV products and customer projects within the North American business.
The Engineering Manager is a hands-on leader who establishes priorities, develops team capabilities, improves engineering processes, and drives consistent execution. The role requires sufficient technical knowledge to effectively lead and support multidisciplinary engineering teams; however, the Engineering Manager is not expected to be the technical subject matter expert in all engineering disciplines. Technical ownership and approval of discipline-specific deliverables remain the responsibility of qualified engineers within the organization.
A successful candidate will foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, customer focus, and operational excellence while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and predictably.
