Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and clinically knowledgeable Mental Health Quality Assurance Specialist to join our growing team. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, improving clinical documentation quality, and supporting continuous improvement across mental health programs. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of behavioral health practices along with a passion for quality, accuracy, and client outcomes.

Key responsibilities include reviewing clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal, state, and organizational standards; conducting routine audits of treatment plans, progress notes, and assessments; and identifying areas for improvement in service delivery and documentation practices. This position also partners closely with clinical leadership to implement quality improvement initiatives, monitor corrective action plans, and support staff training on documentation standards and regulatory requirements.

The Mental Health Quality Assurance Specialist will analyze trends in audit findings, prepare reports for leadership, and recommend process improvements that enhance both compliance and client care. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of applicable regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices in behavioral health is essential to success in this role.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, healthcare administration, or a related field. Relevant experience in behavioral health, quality assurance, or compliance is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clinical and administrative teams. Familiarity with electronic health records systems and auditing tools is highly desirable.
