Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and attentive Patient Sitter to provide dedicated support to patients in their homes. In this vital role, you will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents by closely monitoring their activities and assisting with daily needs. Your energetic approach and keen observation skills will help create a secure environment where patients feel cared for and respected. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs, including those with cognitive disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or experiencing memory care challenges.

Responsibilities

Provide constant supervision of residents, ensuring their safety at all times while respecting their dignity and independence
Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility support.
Monitor vital signs and observe behavioral changes, reporting any concerns promptly to nursing staff.
Support residents with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and medication reminders in accordance with care plans
Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic exercises to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities while adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations
Manage conflict or behavioral issues through compassionate behavior management techniques while ensuring a calm environment

Qualifications

Prior experience preferred
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams such as social work or case management
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks safely when supporting mobility
Valid driver’s license for driving responsibilities related to patient transportation if required
Compassionate caregiving attitude with a focus on patient-centered care and conflict management skills
