POSITION SUMMARY
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is looking for a Part Time Recreation Assistant to join the team! The Recreation Assistant will assist with operations and upkeep within Winget Park including but not limited to setup/breakdown of athletic events, including races, tournaments, seasonal league games and special events, overall park cleanliness, and upkeep of park amenities. In addition, this position will also handle inquiries from the general public and event patrons while also ensuring safety of all guests. This position will work up to 19 hours per week, with nights and weekends required during events and tournaments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide customer service in a park facility
Ensure safety of participants/spectators within the parks
May collect fees and take registrations for recreational programs and facility rentals
Enforce rules and regulations.
Assist in light maintenance of facilities and recreational areas.
Handles inquiries and complaints from public.
Assist with special events and field trips

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: No experience required.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted? N/A

Computer Skills: General knowledge of applicable computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite

Licenses and Certifications: Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License and County Driving Privileges; CPR/First Aid
