Position Summary
Cam-Ful Industries is seeking an experienced Pipefitting Foreman to lead field crews on commercial and industrial HVAC and mechanical-piping projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on pipefitting experience and the leadership ability to plan installations, coordinate manpower and materials, interpret blueprints and isometric drawings, and maintain project schedules. This position requires strong technical judgment, clear communication, and a commitment to safety, productivity, and quality workmanship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Lead and direct pipefitters, welders, helpers, apprentices, and other assigned field personnel.
· Plan daily work activities, crew assignments, installation sequences, and short-term production goals.
· Review project plans, specifications, shop drawings, piping isometrics, equipment submittals, and applicable codes before and during installation.
· Lay out and coordinate commercial and industrial mechanical-piping systems, including chilled water, hot water, condenser water, steam, refrigerant, and process piping.
· Coordinate piping installation with HVAC equipment, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, supports, hangers, anchors, and associated components.
· Confirm field measurements, elevations, slopes, pipe routing, equipment connections, and clearances before fabrication and installation.
· Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, lifts, rigging, and equipment to maintain workflow and reduce downtime.
· Monitor pipe preparation, cutting, threading, grooving, brazing, welding, bolting, and assembly for compliance with plans and quality standards.
· Work closely with project managers, superintendents, general contractors, inspectors, vendors, and other trades to resolve field conflicts.
· Conduct pre-task planning, toolbox talks, job-hazard analyses, and daily safety discussions with the crew.
· Enforce company safety policies, OSHA requirements, PPE standards, fall-protection rules, hot-work procedures, and safe rigging practices.
· Inspect completed work, identify deficiencies, coordinate corrections, and help prepare systems for testing, flushing, start-up, commissioning, and turnover.
· Track labor progress, material usage, production concerns, change conditions, and other field information required by project leadership.
· Train, mentor, and evaluate less-experienced employees while promoting accountability, teamwork, and professional development.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and productive work area and protect installed equipment and materials from damage.
· Perform hands-on pipefitting work when needed to support the crew and project schedule.
· Perform other duties reasonably associated with the position and project requirements.
Required Qualifications
· Minimum of five years of commercial or industrial pipefitting experience, including demonstrated crew-leadership or foreman responsibility.
· Strong working knowledge of commercial HVAC and mechanical-piping installation methods, materials, fittings, valves, supports, and equipment connections.
· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, piping isometrics, specifications, equipment submittals, and applicable codes.
· Ability to lay out piping systems, establish elevations and slopes, determine routing, and identify field conflicts before installation.
· Experience coordinating pipefitters, welders, helpers, apprentices, materials, tools, and production schedules.
· Working knowledge of pipe fabrication and joining methods, including threading, grooving, brazing, welding, flanging, and mechanical connections.
· Demonstrated understanding of jobsite safety, hot-work requirements, fall protection, material handling, and basic rigging practices.
· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to jobsites.
· Ability to communicate clearly, document field information, and work cooperatively with project leadership and other trades.
· High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant trade experience.
Preferred Qualifications
· Journeyman-level pipefitting training, apprenticeship completion, or recognized trade certification.
· OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
· Current forklift, scissor-lift, boom-lift, telehandler, or other equipment certifications.
· Experience with hydronic piping, steam systems, equipment-room piping, central plants, or industrial process piping.
· Experience supporting pressure testing, flushing, chemical treatment, equipment start-up, and system commissioning.
· Basic computer or mobile-device skills for reviewing drawings, communicating field updates, and completing documentation.

· Problem solving, field coordination, quality control, and conflict resolution.
· Safe use of hand tools, power tools, pipe-threading and grooving equipment, cutting equipment, and aerial lifts.
· Clear verbal and written communication and accurate field documentation.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
This position performs work on active commercial and industrial construction sites and may be exposed to heat, cold, noise, dust, weather, elevated work areas, and other normal construction conditions. · Regularly stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in mechanical rooms, equipment areas, and active construction environments.
· Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance or mechanical devices used when required.
· Work from ladders, scaffolds, scissor lifts, boom lifts, rooftops, and other elevated locations while using required fall protection.
· Wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, high-visibility clothing, and task-specific protective equipment.
Schedule and Travel
· Full-time field position; start and end times may vary according to project requirements.
· Overtime, weekends, shift work, and occasional out-of-town travel may be required.
· Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the position.
