Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable and Payroll Processor to manage our company's financial transactions and employee compensation processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, proficiency with payroll and accounting software, and a thorough understanding of labor laws and tax regulations. This role is vital in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, compliance, and timely processing of payments.

Duties

Process accounts payable transactions accurately using payroll and accounting systems such as Workday, Gusto, Paychex, QuickBooks, and other relevant software.
Manage payroll processing by collecting data entries related to hours worked, wages, deductions, and benefits while ensuring compliance with employment and labor laws.
Reconcile accounts payable and payroll data regularly to maintain precise financial records.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and financial data at all times.
Prepare journal entries related to payroll expenses, taxes, and other financial transactions for general ledger posting.
Ensure timely submission of payroll taxes and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
Collaborate with HRIS systems such as UltiPro, PeopleSoft, ADP, Kronos, Navigator, or Ceridian to streamline payroll management processes.
Assist in audits related to payroll and accounts payable by providing necessary documentation and reconciliation reports.

Skills

Proficiency with payroll systems including Workday, Gusto, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, Ceridian; experience supporting these systems is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices.
Familiarity with time & attendance systems and payroll management software for efficient data entry and processing.
In-depth understanding of employment law, labor law compliance, payroll tax regulations, and tax law related to compensation.
Advanced skills in spreadsheets (Excel), accounting software (QuickBooks), general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and analysis techniques.
Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining accuracy in data entry and account reconciliation tasks.
Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail.
