Full Job Description

Job is located in Charlottesville, VA

S.T.A.R.S. is a group home for teens. We currently have immediate openings for full-time Direct Care Specialists. Direct Care Specialists are the backbone of S.T.A.R.S. and provide around the clock supervision of our residents. Duties include but are not limited to: actively and enthusiastically supervising the residents, teaching independent living and social skills, problem solving, crisis management, providing behavior support, documentation, and being positive role models.

We have the following shift available:

1. Wednesdays through Fridays 4pm-12am, Saturdays 12pm-12am

2. Sundays 12pm-12am, Mondays through Wednesdays 4pm-12am

There are no day shift positions currently available.

In order to be considered, applicants must be over 21, have a high school diploma, have at least six months paid or volunteer experience working with children or teens (having your own children does not meet this requirement), be able to pass a background check, and have an enthusiastic attitude. College degree in human services field, psychology, or related field preferred but not required.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
