Contract Real Estate Photographer/Videographer
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia, and surrounding areas
Job Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
Compensation: Hourly, tiered by skill level (see below)
About the Role
We're a growing real estate media company serving real estate professionals throughout Charlottesville, Virginia, and the surrounding area. We photograph and film 2-5 properties per day and deliver professional photos and videos within 24–48 hours of each shoot.
We're looking for a reliable contract photographer/videographer to join our team and grow with us. Whether you're experienced in real estate media or eager to learn, we're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates professionally, and is committed to delivering a great client experience.
Responsibilities
- Photograph residential and commercial real estate listings on location throughout Charlottesville and the surrounding areas.
- Capture supporting video footage for property listing videos.
- Deliver raw photo and video files to our editing team by the end of each day (target: 6:00 PM EST) to support our 24–48-hour turnaround time.
- Communicate professionally with real estate agents and homeowners on-site.
- Safely transport, maintain, and care for company-provided photography equipment.
Equipment Provided
We provide all equipment needed to perform your duties, including:
- Mirrorless camera and lens
- Tripod
- Gimbal
- Drone
- 3D camera
Pay Structure
Training – $25/hour
Starting rate while learning our workflow, shot list, and quality standards.
FAA Part 107 Certified – $30/hour
Once you obtain a valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
Real Estate Video Qualified – $35/hour
After successfully passing our real estate video skills assessment and completing a minimum of two months with the team.
Requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Based in or willing to travel throughout the Charlottesville area, including Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Orange counties.
- Reliable transportation.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong eye for composition, lighting, and staging in interior and exterior real estate photography.
- Professional, punctual, and comfortable interacting with real estate agents and homeowners.
- Basic understanding of mirrorless cameras or a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
- Portfolio of real estate or architectural photography.
- Experience creating real estate walkthroughs or listing videos.
