Full Job Description

Homer Contracting is seeking an experienced Superintendent to support and oversee field operations for multiple commercial construction projects throughout Massachusetts and the Greater New England region.

This role involves direct management of assigned construction projects while also providing oversight, coordination, and support across additional projects as needed. The position is ideal for a highly experienced superintendent capable of independently running projects while contributing to broader field leadership across multiple active jobs.

Only candidates with demonstrated experience independently running commercial construction projects will be considered.

Responsibilities include:

Manage assigned commercial construction projects from mobilization through completion
Lead and coordinate all on-site construction activities, ensuring schedule, quality, and safety goals are met
Oversee and support site superintendents and field personnel across multiple projects
Coordinate subcontractors and maintain productive, well-sequenced jobsite operations
Assist with project scheduling, sequencing, and overall construction logistics
Review RFIs, submittals, and material procurement as needed
Conduct site visits to ensure quality control and adherence to plans and specifications
Lead project meetings and maintain communication with owners, architects, and project teams
Enforce safety standards and company procedures across all projects
Assist with planning and coordination of upcoming projects and field staffing
Proactively identify and resolve field issues before they impact schedule or cost
Maintain organized, professional, and well-run job sites

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience supervising commercial construction projects
Proven ability to independently run projects from mobilization through closeout
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and field teams simultaneously
Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (CSL) required
OSHA-10 certification required
Experience with public sector or municipal construction projects preferred
Demonstrated ability to coordinate subcontractors across multiple concurrent projects
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to proactively identify and resolve field issues without reliance on constant direction
Willingness to travel throughout Massachusetts and the Greater New England region
Prior hands-on experience in the trades is a plus

Additional Expectations:

Ability to manage one or more projects depending on size and complexity
Flexibility to adjust to changing project needs and priorities
Availability for communication as needed to support ongoing operations
Level of involvement across projects may vary based on company needs and direction from Ownership
