Shift Lead (Track to Assistant Manager)

What You'll Do

This is a true working leadership position.

You'll spend your day both leading people and caring for dogs.

Responsibilities include:

Lead and support the team throughout each shift
Set the example by consistently following and reinforcing Pawparazzi's safety standards, dog handling procedures, and operational expectations
Assign responsibilities throughout the day based on urgency, staffing, and the overall strategy for a successful shift
Motivate, coach, and encourage team members while creating a positive, drama free workplace
Supervise structured daycare groups while maintaining a calm, safe, and enriching environment
Perform temperament test evaluations for prospective daycare, Camp, and overnight boarding guests after completing training
Read canine body language and safely manage introductions, transitions, and group dynamics
Recognize developing situations and respond confidently before they escalate
Prepare and serve meals and treats
Administer medications accurately and according to instructions
Communicate professionally with clients regarding their dog's behavior, health, medications, and daily experiences
Perform basic pet first aid when necessary
Complete incident reports and other documentation thoroughly and accurately
Assist with deep cleaning, sanitation, facility maintenance, and hands-on animal care
Jump in wherever needed to help your team succeed

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who has demonstrated success, not simply held a leadership title.

You may be an excellent fit if you:

Have previous experience as a Shift Lead, Team Lead, Assistant Manager, Supervisor, or similar leadership role
Have professional experience in dog daycare, boarding, veterinary medicine, grooming, rescue, training, or another animal care environment
Naturally take initiative instead of waiting to be told what to do
Lead through consistency, accountability, and setting the example
Stay calm, organized, and decisive in fast paced situations
Communicate professionally with coworkers, managers, clients, and veterinary professionals
Enjoy coaching others and helping teammates grow
Hold yourself to a higher standard while inspiring others to do the same
Understand that leadership means serving your team, not managing from the sidelines

What This Job Is Really Like

This is active, physical, hands-on work.

You'll spend much of your day supervising dogs, interacting with clients, leading your team, solving problems, making decisions, cleaning, and helping wherever needed.

You should be comfortable:

Handling dogs of every size, breed, and personality
Standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the day
Lifting 50 pounds or more when necessary
Cleaning up after dogs and maintaining high sanitation standards
Working indoors and outdoors throughout the year
Making thoughtful decisions in fast moving situations where safety always comes first

No two days are exactly alike, and that's exactly why our team loves working here.

Schedule

After completing training, the estimated schedule is:

Monday: 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM
Thursday: 1:45 PM to 10:00 PM
Friday: 1:45 PM to 10:00 PM
Sunday: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
