Full Job Description

Overview
Join our dedicated team as a Nightshift Caregiver and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring around-the-clock support. This vital role offers an opportunity to provide compassionate, personalized care during overnight hours, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity for residents with diverse needs. As a Nightshift Caregiver, you will be the reassuring presence that promotes well-being through attentive monitoring, assistance with daily activities, and emergency response when necessary. Your commitment helps create a safe and nurturing environment for those in your care.

Responsibilities

Monitor residents’ health and safety throughout the night by observing vital signs, patient behavior, and overall condition.
Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when needed.
Administer medications accurately following care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
Respond promptly to residents’ needs or emergencies by providing first aid, CPR, or calling emergency services as required.
Perform routine cleaning duties to maintain a hygienic environment in resident rooms and common areas.
Document all observations, care provided, medication administration, and incident reports meticulously in compliance with healthcare standards.
Support residents with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met while respecting dietary restrictions.

Experience

Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable.
Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs.
Hands-on experience with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
Familiarity with home & community care practices including home health and hospice care settings.
Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or nursing assistant credentials are a plus.
Experience operating patient lifting equipment like Hoyer lifts and performing heavy lifting safely is preferred.
Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and documenting care accurately.
