About the Role:
The Bar Manager is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Speakeasy while ensuring exceptional hospitality, consistent execution, and a high performing team.
This role leads bartenders and barbacks, maintains cocktail and service standards, develops team members through coaching and training, and oversees bar organization, inventory, cash handling, and daily operations. The Bar Manager sets the tone behind the bar, leading by example and ensuring every shift reflects the culture, quality, and guest experience that define ATMOSPHERE.
Areas of Responsibility :
- Manages day to day operations, bartenders, and barbacks in the Speakeasy.
Accountability
- Holds bartenders and barbacks accountable for day to day tasks including opening checklists, closing checklists, prep, cocktail consistency, along with daily & weekly cleaning sidework.
Creates a Positive Environment for Employees
- Manages negative interactions between staff members.
- Fosters a culture of support and teamwork.
- Communicates any needs from team members that need to be addressed by the General Manager.
Manage Guest Experience
- Be proactive in assisting guests to elevate their experience.
- Relay positive & negative comments from guests to the General Manager.
Maintain Organizational Processes
- Liquor Room Organization including Refrigeration and Prep Items.
- Bar & Back Bar Organization.
- Training:
- In charge of training all new bartenders and barbacks.
- Follows training processes set in place by the training manual.
- Guides new hires through prep, prep and juicing schedules, cocktail builds, opening and closing checklists, Etc.
Maintenance Issues
- In charge of addressing any maintenance issues with the General Manager. This includes, but is not limited to leaks, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, Etc.
Cash Handling:
- Responsible for proper cash handling procedures.
- Inventory Management:
- Assists in inventory counting with another member of management.
- Keeps an accurate count of low or missing items that need to be ordered.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Deliver exceptional customer service
● Advance ATMOSPHERE Beverage program
● Support Operations Manager and team in all daily operations
● Manage beverage inventory; manage vendor relationships and ensure inventory levels are met
● Meet and exceed sales goals
● Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws regarding the sale and consumption of beverage and infused-beverage programs
● Assist with opening/closing of the lounge
●Ensure alcohol serving licenses for staff and adherence to health and safety standards.
●Oversee aspects of operations related to the sale and service of alcohol, including age verification, responsible service practices, and preventing over-service to intoxicated patrons.
●Maintain a safe and sanitary environment, compliance with health regulations. This includes overseeing internal inspections, cleanliness of equipment and facilities
●Areas Of Responsibility: Beverage program, Bar/Cafe Operations, Operations Manager support, Inventory Support, Vendor Relations, Purchasing, Regulatory Compliance, Personnel Training and Support
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
● Impeccable customer service skills
● In-depth knowledge of cocktail recipes, mixology techniques, and beverage presentation
● Familiarity with coffee and tea preparation is a plus
● Bartending experience in a high-end/volume environment (preferred)
● Minimum age of 21
● Must possess a valid bartender's license or certification as required by state regulations
● Must pass any required background checks
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position primarily works in a bar environment within the Lounge/Bar department.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED WORK HOURS: This position is full-time (30+ hours/week) or part-time (less than 30 hours/week), operating Sunday through Saturday. Schedules are pre-determined and provided accordingly.
