Full Job Description

Director of Operations & Accounting (Chattanooga, TN)

CORE Safety Group is a nationwide safety management and loss control consulting firm. Seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Operations & Accounting to oversee the organization's financial operations while driving operational excellence across the business.

Job Responsibilities

Inventory & Fixed Asset Management Lead
Ensure inventory accuracy through effective controls, reconciliations, and physical inventory counts.
Lead the day-to-day operational and administrative functions of the organization to ensure efficiency, accountability, and profitability.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Partner with executive leadership to establish strategic goals, annual budgets, and long-term business initiatives.
Monitor key operational and financial performance indicators (KPIs) and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Direct all accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Inventory Accounting, Job Costing, and Financial Reporting.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
7+ years of progressive accounting and operational leadership experience.
Strong experience with inventory accounting, job costing, and project accounting.
Comprehensive knowledge of fixed asset accounting and capital project management.
Experience managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Financial Reporting.
Experience with multi-state sales tax compliance.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
Experience with QuickBooks or comparable ERP/accounting software.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
