Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive occupational therapy services across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, home health, and school environments. This role involves assessing patients' needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions to enhance functional independence and quality of life. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise in pediatric and adult populations, with experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder, and those requiring physical rehabilitation. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through patient-centered care and interprofessional collaboration.

Duties

Conduct thorough occupational therapy assessments to evaluate clients' physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional needs.
Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical goals, patient preferences, and evidence-based practices.
Implement occupational therapy programs aimed at improving activities of daily living (ADLs), motor skills, sensory processing, and functional independence.
Assist clients with discharge planning by coordinating care transitions and providing education on home modifications or adaptive equipment.
Support patients across diverse settings including acute care units, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, schools, and home health environments.
Collaborate closely with speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians, educators, and case managers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health records (EHR), including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
Educate patients and their families about therapeutic strategies, adaptive techniques, and support resources.
Manage caseloads effectively by prioritizing interventions based on clinical urgency and patient needs.
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in occupational therapy practices.

Experience

Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities across multiple settings such as inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, or home health.
Demonstrated expertise in pediatric occupational therapy including early intervention programs and school-based services.
Experience supporting clients with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder.
Familiarity with acute care environments including ICU settings and post-acute care facilities.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and clinical documentation standards related to occupational therapy.
Skilled in developing treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices for physical rehabilitation and occupational health.
Strong client communication skills to effectively engage diverse populations across age groups.
Experience working collaboratively within interprofessional teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Proficiency in managing electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation and care coordination.
Ability to adapt interventions for patients with complex medical conditions or disabilities requiring specialized approaches.
