About VADD Construction Services
VADD Construction Services supports large-scale data center construction projects for leading technology and colocation clients. Our team works in fast-paced construction environments where electrical design coordination, documentation accuracy, code compliance, and collaboration with project stakeholders are critical to successful delivery.
Job Summary
VADD Construction Services is seeking a Junior Electrical Design Engineer with 3–5 years of professional electrical design experience, preferably in an MEP consulting engineering firm or electrical building systems design environment.
This is not an entry-level student, technician, electrician, low-voltage cabling, IT/networking, or controls-only role. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience preparing and reviewing electrical design documents for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, emergency power, panel schedules, load calculations, one-line diagrams, and construction documents.
This role will support data center construction projects by coordinating electrical design requirements, reviewing project documents, supporting RFIs/submittals, and working with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and outside disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design, review, and coordination of electrical systems for data center and commercial construction projects, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, emergency/standby power, panel schedules, load calculations, one-line diagrams, equipment layouts, and construction documents.
- Review electrical plans, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate electrical design information with project managers, senior engineers, subcontractors, vendors, architects, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, and other outside project stakeholders.
- Support RFI responses, change order documentation, commissioning checklists, field reports, and project closeout documentation.
- Participate in site meetings, field walks, and inspections to identify design or installation issues and help coordinate timely resolution.
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities for electrical systems.
- Help track electrical scope, schedule impacts, design changes, and coordination issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Apply company policies, project management procedures, documentation standards, and electrical engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering strongly preferred.
- 3–5 years of professional electrical design experience required.
- Experience with MEP consulting, electrical building systems design, or construction document production.
- Experience preparing or reviewing electrical design deliverables such as power plans, lighting plans, panel schedules, load calculations, one-line diagrams, equipment layouts, short-circuit or coordination studies, fire alarm layouts, or low-voltage coordination drawings.
- Working knowledge of NEC, electrical construction standards, and building system coordination.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Ability to coordinate with architects, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel and work on active construction sites as needed.

- EIT / FE certification.
- Experience with data center, mission-critical, commercial, industrial, healthcare, or institutional projects.
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, BIM coordination, or electrical analysis software.
- Light data center exposure is helpful, but heavy data center-only operations experience is not required.
