Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Receptionist/Insurance Specialist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of dental insurance policies, co-insurances, deductibles & maximums, and treatment frequencies. This role involves managing insurance verification in a timely manner, explaining coverages to parents of our pediatric patients, and documenting benefits & limitations for all staff to reference. This position plays a vital role in ensuring seamless communication between our parents, and their insurance companies, while maintaining strict compliance with confidentiality policies. Candidates should possess excellent customer service skills; patience, understanding for young children and special needs children in our practice, and also posses a solid foundation of dental terminology and procedures.

Duties

Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits using various systems.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies when handling sensitive medical records.
Assist patients with insurance-related inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
Review and process dental records.
Utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting, documentation, and communication purposes
Conduct insurance verification to confirm patient eligibility and coverage details before appointments or procedures
Maintain organized electronic health records (EHR) management to support efficient clinical workflows
Correspondence by phone, email & text with our families regarding upcoming appointments & insurance eligibility.

Experience

Prior experience in a dental/medical office setting or healthcare environment is required.
Knowledge of health insurance policies, managed care processes, and insurance benefits.
Proficiency in scheduling and insurance verification is highly desirable.
Familiarity with Dentrix and Dental Intelligence is considered an asset.
Strong understanding of clinical confidentiality policies such as HIPAA regulations.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
Experience working with dental terminology and health insurance policies will be considered an asset.

Office Hours Mon-Thurs 7:30-4 with an occasional Friday

PTO/Sick - Eligible after 90 days probation

Premera B/C Medical, Delta Dental & VSP Vision Insurance - Eligible after 60 days of employment

Salary - Depends on experience & is negotiable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
